Oath taking Program of newly elected Board Members - 4 September In the Board meeting held on 18th Bhadra 2074, the President nominated Ms. Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, Mr. Shiva Bahadur Sapkota and Mr. Lhakpa Tshering Sherpa in the Executive Board Members of NMA. Similarly, on the next day (19th Bhadra 2074) the NMA President Mr. Santa Bir Lama conducted the oath taking program to the newly nominated board members, Mr. Shiva Bahadur Sapkota and Mr. Lhakpa Tshering Sherpa at NMA Secretariat. South Korean Lhotse South Face Expedition 2017 - 9 September NMA organized a special program on 8 Sep to express its well wishes and greetings to South Korean Lhotse South Face Expedition 2017 led by experienced Korean climber Sung Taek Hong and Spanish climber Igocheyega Jurgel. The Spanish climber Mr. Jurgel successfully climbed all the mountains above 8000m. Several attempts have been made to climb Lhotse from South side, but success still remains to be received. The team of 13 Koreans and 14 Spanish will leave on 9 Sep for base camp and expected to ascend on 11 Nov. NMA President Santa Bir Lama, General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung, Secretary Tika Gurung, Treasurer Sudershan Neupane and other members of NMA wished with NMA flag for the success of the expedition. Courtesy visit with Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation - 11 September NMA President Santa Bir Lama led the delegation team of NMA for the courtesy visit with Maheswor Neupane- newly appointed as Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on 11 Sep 2017. Mr. Lama briefed him about the activities, objectives and programs of NMA on the occasion. General Secretary Kul Bahadur Gurung, Secretary Tika Ram Gurung, Treasurer Sudershan Neupane along with other board members were also present during the meeting. 27th Annual General Meeting postponed - 13 September The 27th Annual General Meeting scheduled for 16th September, 2017 (Saturday) has been postponed until our further notice. Congratulatory Program organized by TAAN - 13 September Trekking Agencies' Association on Nepal (TAAN) organized a welcome and congratulatory program for the newly elected Central Executive Board Members of NMA on 13th September at TAAN Secretariat, Maligoun. Office hour during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath Parba holidays - 15 September We would like to inform you that NMA will remain open from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm(3 hrs) during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath Parba. NMA will be closed on 30 Sep (Vijayadashami) and 21 Oct (Bhaitika). Celebration of 38th World Tourism Day - 25 September On the occasion of 38th World Tourism Day Ministry of Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation organized a morning procession on 25th September 2017 starting from Karmachari Sanchaya kosh Building and concluded at NTB. The main theme of this program was "Sustainable Tourism – A Tool for Development". Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Maheshwar Neupane led the morning procession. Representatives from MoTCCA,Nepal Tourism Board(NTB), Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA) and representatives from different tourism related organization participated in the program. Explore Tobsar Peak Autumn 2017 Expedition- 26 September NMA President Santa Bir Lama handed over NMA flag to the expedition leader, Mr. Mulal Gurung, Explore Tobsar Peak Autumn 2017 Expedition in the special program organized on 26 Sep 2017. The other members of the expedition team are Narendra Shahi and Iman Gurung. The expedition was also organized in 2016 with an objective to gather information about Tobsar peak for the peak profile, but could not succeed the ascent due to bad weather. Felicitation program for NMA executive board - 26 September Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) organized felicitation and dinner program for the newly elected Executive Board members on 6th Ashwin 2074. NMA President Santa Bir Lama along with other official members of NMA attended the program. The program also focused on the mutual cooperation of both the associations for the production of skilled human resources for the development of safe mountain tourism. 11th Memorial Day of late Dr. Harka Gurung - 26 September Tamu Baudha Service Committee organized 11th Memorial Day of late Dr. Harka Gurung in the special program organized on 7th Ashwin 2074(Saturday). Late Dr. Gurung was former chief adviser of NMA and the first tourism minister of Nepal. His contribution for the development of Nepal's mountain tourism is highly appreciated. He had also played key role in the identification and naming of many mountains of Nepal, which still remains as the good source of information for all the mountaineers and experts. On behalf of NMA, its President Santa Bir Lama attended the memorial program. NMA attended 6th Annual General Meeting of Nepal Magar Tourism Society - 26 September On the occasion of 6th Annual General Meeting of Nepal Magar Tourism Society on 7th Ashwin 2074 (Saturday), newly elected NMA Executive Board Members were felicitated. NMA General Secretary Kul Bahadur and other board members were present in the program. Celebration of 38th World Tourism Day - 28 September 38th World Tourism Day celebrated at NMA Secretariat by lightning candles. |
