UIAA GA- 2016 in Italy

NMA President Ang Tshering Sherpa led the delegation of NMA for the General Assembly of Union of International Alpine Association 2016 (UIAA) being held in Brixen of Italy from 12 – 16 Oct 2016. The delegation of NMA are Dr. Ganes Gurung (Adviser), Deebas Bikram Shah (IInd Vice President), Kaman Singh Khatri (Representative, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation ), Executive Board Members Dr. Hari Prasad Shrestha and Pasang Bote and Jinesh Sindurakar ( Chief Administrative Officer). There was also visit program at Messner Mountain Museum on 14 Oct 2016. NMA President handed over the invitation card to Mr. Messner for Makalu Kanchenjungha Diamond Jubilee Celebration on 18 and 19 Nov 2016.

During UIAA GA 2016 held in Italy re-elected Vrijlandt Frits from Netherlands for the term of four three years. And NMA IPP Zimba Zangbu Sherpa elected for UIAA Management Committee.

Everest's first woman climber Junko Tabei dies-20 Oct

First woman Everest climber Junko Tabei dies aged 77 on 20 Oct, Saturday.She was diagnosed with cancer of the abdomen four years ago, and died in hospital in the city of Saitama, Japan.
