Prime Minister's visit to IMM- 10 OctRt. Hon'ble Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal visited NMA' s International Mountain Museum on 9 Oct 2009. He was very impressed by the display of mountaineering artifacts and termed IMM as the pride of our nation. He was accompanied by constituent cssembly members, high level government officials and other tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara. K P Oli visited IMM- 11 OctInfluential leader of Unified Marxist and Leninist Mr. K P Oli visited IMM on 11 Oct. During his visit, he expressed that the establishment of IMM will help in the study of geography, natural beauty and culture of Himalayan people. He also committed for the necessary help that he could provide in the development and promotion of IMM. 43rd World Congress of UFTAA to be held-26 Oct43rd World Congress of UFTAA is going to be held in Kathmandu from 20-24 November 2009 with a slogan of sustainability, networking and profitability. The program is to be organized by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents. NAC to purchase new aircraft- 26 OctNepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) had decided on 26 Oct to purchase two new aircraft, an Airbus A320-200 by the third quarter of 2010 and an A330-200 by the first half of 2011. It is hoped that the purchase of new aircrafts will play key role in making a grand success Nepal Tourism Year 2011 with a positive effect in the whole national economy. Everest Skydive 2009- 29 OctWorld skydiving champion Wendy Smith from New Zealand, Global Angels ambassador and tandem master Tom Noonan and Wing Commander Jai Kishan from the Indian Air Force, made a successful landing at the Gorak Shep, Kala Patthar plateau, lying at an altitude of 17,192 feet (5,242m), right beside Mt. Everest on 28 Oct. This is believed to be the highest skydiving stunt performed over highest drop zone in the world. The event was handled by Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure. |
