NMA Day Celebrated- 1 Nov38th Anniversary of Nepal Mountaineering Association was celebrated by organizing a special program in the premises of NMA- Secretariat. The program started with the welcome speech delivered by General Secretary Mr Deebas Bikram Shah. The chief guest for the program, Mr. Hari Prasad Basyal- Chief, Tourism Industries Division, inaugurated the program by hoisting the flag of NMA. The life member of NMA, Mr. Isihara Yuchiro handed over the collection of stamps published by different countries to mark their ascent of Mt. Everest. The stamps will be displayed at the International Mountain Museum Pokhara. In the program, Mr. Basyal appreciated the activities conducted by NMA for the promotion of mountain tourism. He also expressed his happiness for the successful completion of UIAA/ UAAA General Assembly conducted from 4-9 Oct 2011. At the end of the program, NMA President thanked Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board and other travel related organizations for extending support to conclude UIAA/UAAA General Assembly successfully. He also informed that NMA has been conducting different mountaineering trainings to develop safe mountaineering and up till now 1675 mountaineers have been trained. Similarly, he also mentioned that NMA's International Mountain Museum in Pokhara has been visited by 596208 since its establishment and is regarded as one of the major tourist destination of Nepal. 38th NMA Day Celebrated Two Koreans died on Mt. Cholatse- 10 NovTwo Koreans named Kim Hyung il and Chang Ji Myeong died on Mt. Cholatse on 10 Nov after they fell down from 6000m to 5000m. 50th Anniversary of Nagano Mountaineering Association - 14 Nov NMA President Zimba Zangbu Sherpa and Ist VP Nima Nuru Sherpa returned Nepal on 14 Nov after participating in the 50th Anniversary of Nagano Mountaineering Association held on 12 Nov 2011. NMA and NMA-Japan signed protocol agreement on 10 Jan 2005 to coordinate in improving the mountain climbing activities and people's appreciation of nature as sports. On behalf of NMA, President Mr. Zimba Zangbu Sherpa presented a token of love for the Nagano Mountaineering Association. During this visit, they also participated in the General Assembly of Japanese Mountaineering Association. 50th Anniversary of Nagano Mountaineering Association 20th Asian Championship Huangshi (CHN) 2011- 16 NovThe 20th Asian Championship Huangshi (CHN) 2011 will take place from 9 - 11 December 2011Wuhan city of China. The program is to be organized by Asian Council of Sport Council, Chinese Mountaineering Association and the People's Government of China. International trekking & climbing festival in the Khumbu- 17 NovThe International Trekking & Climbing Festival was organized in the Khumbu region from 20 - 28 Nov 2011. The program was organized Union of International Alpine Association (UIAA). The main objective of the festival is share knowledge on mountaineering of the participating countries, new techniques on mountaineering among the participants. NMA General Secretary Deebas Bikram Shah participated in the program on behalf of NMA. |
