Extraordinary Annual General Assembly concluded- 2 March

NMA's Extraordinary Annual General Assembly was concluded on 2 Marc 2013 at Naxal Banquet. The assembly scheduled on 8 Feb was postponed because of lack of quorum and called for the second time on 24 Feb 2013. It was again postponed for the same reason and called for the third time on 2 March. The assembly was called to discuss on the proposed statute with some timely amendments in its current statute. The discussion mainly focused on renewal of membership, provision of ex-officio members from different organizations, tenure of Executive Board Members etc. The meeting endorsed with some major changes in the proposed statute and will be sent to District Administration Office for the final approval.

GIA on Mt. Kilimanjaro- 5 March

The members of Global Inclusive Adventure Organization succeeded their expedition on Mt. Kilimanjaro on 5 March 2013. NMA President handed over the cheque of US $ 5000 and NMA flag to Global Inclusive Adventure Organization for their expedition on Mt. Kilimanjaro. The expedition is part of their movement to climb seven highest peaks of seven continents. As part of their mission, the team had successfully ascended Mt. Everest (Asia), Mt. Elbrus (Europe), Mt. Kosciuszko (Australia) and Mt. Kilimanjaro.

IFSC Plenary Assembly- 7 March

NMA General Secretary Deebas Bickram Shah participated in the Plenary Assembly of International Federation of Sports Climbing held on 8 March 2013 in China. The forty-eight member federation affiliated with IFSC participated in the meeting organized by Chinese Mountaineering Association. The assembly made some changes its statute, which was endorsed unanimously. The meeting also decided to hold next IFSC Plenary Assembly in France in 2014, Asian Beach Games 2014 in Thailand and Asian Championship 2013 in Iran. The Plenary Assembly of Asian Council also took place on the same day.

UIAA Management Committee Meeting- 21 March

Honorary Member of UIAA and Immediate Past President of NMA Ang Tshering Sherpa will participate in the Management Committee Meeting of UIAA to be held in Italy on 3 & 4 May 2013.

Congratulation for Ministers- 26 March 2013

NMA extends its congratulatory message to newly appointed Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Ram Kumar Shrestha. Likewise, NMA also congratulates and expresses its happiness for the appointment of its General Member Mr. Shanker Koirala as the Minister of Finance, Industry, Commerce and Supply.
