Completion of 2nd Monsoon Madness Bouldering Competition - 3rd June 2017 Nepal Mountaineering Association organized 2nd Monsoon Madness Bouldering Competition to promote sport climbing activities in Nepal. The competition was held on 3rd June 2016 at Astrek Climbing Wall, Thamel. Mr. Durga Dhatta Dhakal, Officiating Director General of Department of tourism was the chief guest. In this competition, there were 18 male participants and 11 female participants and result of the program is as follows: Rank Male Female 1 Pranil Man Shresha Pancha Maya Tamang Basic mountaineering Course – 5 June NMA 38 Basic Mountaineering Course class started from 19th June 2017.There were total 44 trainees (36 Nepalese and 8 foreign students) and 12 instructors to conduct this course. Participants and instructors departed for Manang on 26th June. NMA President Ang Tshering Sherpa saw them off at the special program organized at NMA. The training started from 12- June 2017 in Kathmandu and they will return on 21 July from Manang. NMA Mountain Leader Training - 11 June Nepal mountaineering Association (NMA) organised NMA Mountain Leader Training -2017 from 2 July 2017 to 15 July 2017 at Katmandu and International Mountaineering Memorial Park, Kakani. There were total 12 participants in this training. Sanjay Pandit died at Mt. Denali – 18 June Nepali mountaineer and ultra runner Sanjay Pandit died at Mt. Denali, North America on Friday, 16th June 2017 due to altitude problem. Nepalese Embassy for United States of America has mentioned that they have not been able to retrieve his dead body because of the bad weather. We would like to express our heartfelt condolence to the family of demise and hope his soul will rest in peace. Manang Visit - 20 June NMA President Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa, NMA Adviser De. Ganesh Gurung, NMA Executive Board member Dr. Hari Prasad Shrestha and Mulal Gurung Visited NMA Mountaineering School. Inauguration of Bhairab kunda School- 20 June Bhairab Kunda School located at Chhagam, Sindhupalchok was destroyed during the earthquake on April 2015.In coordination with NMA UAAA (Union Asian Alpine Association), Chinese Taipei Alpine Association, JMA (Japan Mountaineering Organization), JAC (Japanese Alpine Club), JWAF ( Japan Workers' Alpine Federation), JMGA ( Japan mountain Guide Association), HAT-J (Himalayan Adventure trust of Japan), JMA (Japan mountaineering Association) supported for the reconstruction of the school. on 16th June 2017 NMA President inaugrated the school in presence of representatives of NMA and local. Talk Program and Certificate distribution program-20 June Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) organized talk program on "Air pollution and its effect on mountain tourism" on 18th June 2017 at 3:00 PM at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). in presence of NMA Executive board members, NMA Advisers, High Level government officials, representatives from different tourism related organization, and other related representatives, environment expert from Germany Dr. Maheshwor Rupakhati present on "Air pollution and its effect on mountain tourism" . On the same program NMA also distributed certificates for the participants and instructors of 25th Advance Mountaineering Course 2016/17 and mountain leadership training. MOU signed for construction of NMA Secretariat Building - 20 June NMA signed MOU with Tundi Construction Pvt.ltd on 19th June for the construction of NMA Secretariat Building at Nagpokhari Naxal. Flag Handover program - 3 July NMA organized a flag handover program on 20th June 2017 at NMA to the participants of IFSC international climbing bouldering Competition that will be held at Mumbai. Panchamaya Tamang, Swostika Chaudhary, Pranil Man Shrestha, Sangam K.C and Sanam Shrestha participated in this competition. |
