36th Basic Mountaineering Course started- 12 June
NMA's regular training program 36th Basic Mountaineering Course started from 12 June 2014 at NMA Secretariat. The training will be conducted in two groups ( Group A and Group B) and 36 trainees will be participating in each group. 36 trainees, 9 instructors, 1 equipment in-charge and 1 Doctor/ Observer of Group A departed Kathmandu on 28 July 2014, Saturday for Manang after completing theoretical part of the training and remaining part of the training will be completed at Manang. They will return Kathmandu on 24 July 2014. Pasang Sherpa and Pasang Tenzing Sherpa are chief Instructor and Coordinator for the training respectively.
Training for Group B will start from 1 July in Kathmandu. They are scheduled to leave Kathmandu on 17 July for Manang and will return on 14 August.
Food and accommodation for both the trainings is managed by Churen Himal Treks & Expedition P Ltd.

First Nepali Women Expedition to K2 2014 - 19 June
The ‘First Nepali Women Expedition to K2 2014′ comprising three young women climbers– Maya Sherpa, Dawa Yangzum Sherpa and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa – has set for Mt K2 in Pakistan. With a message of ‘Women Climbing for Climate’ the team is in its attempt to become the first all-women team from Nepal on the top of K2, which is the second highest mountain on earth, the expedition team left for K2 on 19 June 2014 Thursday. The goal of the expedition is to raise awareness about climate change and sustainable development in the Himalayas. It is estimated that the expedition will take about 65 days from mid-June to the end of August 2014, starting from Kathmandu.
First Nepali Women Expedition team
Seven Summits Women Team on Denali- 24 June
Chunu Shrestha, Asha Kumari Singh, Nimdoma Sherpa and Pema Diki Sherpa along with cameraperson Ang Tshering Lama ascended Mt. Denali at 1:45 pm of 24 June 2014. The other three members Puja Acharya, Shailee Basnet and Maya Gurng left the expedition due to health and logistics.

24th Annual General Meeting
NMA's Central Executive Board Meeting held on 22 June 2014 decided to conduct its 24th Annual General Meeting on 14 July 2014.
More donation for Mountaineering Disaster Relief and Educational Support Fund
President of Union of Asian Alpine Association (UAAA) Inn Jeoung Lee donated US$ 3200 to Mountaineering Disaster Relief and Educational Support Fund, which will be used for the welfare of children and families of deceased mountaineers.
Japanese national Tokinosuke Sugimoto handed over Rs 16000 ( sixteen thousand ) for Mountaineering Disaster Relief and Educational Support Fund at NMA Secretariat. The fund is created for the welfare of children and families of deceased mountaineers.
Honorable Nepalese Consular of Slovenia Aswin Shrestha initiated to organize Donation Film Evening in the memoray of the sherpas, who died by avalanche in Mt. Everst on 18th April 2014 by Slovene Alpine Museum on 9th May 2014. The sad event had been very nicely organized and participated by many friends of Nepal from Slovenia and who donated EURO 520 for Mountaineering Disaster Relief and Educational Support Fund.
