Secretariat Meeting- 4 June

Upon the request from Kathmandu University High School's letter dated 28 May 2007, NMA has provided O2 cylinder (empty) for their practical demonstration class and hand on knowledge.

World Environment Day - 5 June

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Mr. Ang J P Lama, Executive Board Member of NMA, who is also a Outgoing President of Himalayan Yeti Club, Junbesi, Solukhumbu, received an outstanding appreciation award and cash prize from Honorable Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Paudel on the function organized by Ministry of Science and Environment to mark the World Environment Day 2007 at Birendra International Convention Centre. NMA congratulated him for his achievement and thanked him for representing NMA in the function.

Central Secretariat Meeting- 18 June

Upon receiving all the construction/development details from the local development committee and village development committee of Namche as per our requirement letter dated 5 Nov 2006, NMA forwarded a letter to MoCTCA requesting to grant rupees two lacs from our development fund. And upon receiving a letter of go-ahead from MoCTCA on 17 June, Central Board Meeting of 18 June 2007 decided to release the budget of rupees two lacs for the construction of a road to Renjola pass.

The meeting also decided to purchase the travel essay book written by Mr. Pratik Dhakal titled Sagarmatha Ko Aadhar Sibir Bata (From the Base camp of Mt. Everest). He is the Ex-officio Member of executive board of NMA representing Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

And NMA also published a booklet "Twenty questions about butterflies" for our souvenir shop at International Mountain Museum, Pokhara., which is related with our recently added Nepali butterfly display.

Central Secretariat Meeting- 24 June

Central Secretariat meeting held on 24 June endorsed the report of UAAA Council Meeting held in Japan on 9 June 2007. NMA Treasurer Mr. Ang Kaji Sherpa and Member Mr. Santa Bir Lama attended the meeting on behalf on NMA. UIAA / UAAA conference is being held in Matsumoto,Japan from 3- 7 October 2007. The meeting also endorsed the decision of Welfare Committee to provide Rs. 30,000 to the families of late summiteers Mr. Tashi Dorjee Sherpa and Mr. Da Nurbu Sherpa. They died in an avalanche while ascending Mt. Amadablam this year.
