Interaction Program

"Issue of Mt. Everest climbing: An interaction with climbers & other stakeholders"

Nepal Mountaineering Association organized a felicitation to the newly appointed and elected executive board members of, Nepal Touriam Board, Nepal Mountain Academy, Hotel Association Nepal, VITOF-Nepal and Thamel Tourism Development Council and interaction program on "Issue of Mt. Everest climbing: An interaction with climbers & other stakeholders" on 1st July 2019 at 1:00 pm at Naxal Banquet. The Chief Guest for the program was Mr. Danduraj Ghimire, Director General, Department of Tourism. Executive board members of NMA, advisors of NMA, representatives from different tourism related organization, tourism entrepreneurs, climbers along with the general members were present during the program.

NMA President, Mr. Santa Bir Lama welcomed the Chief Guest by offering the bouquet and khada. The program observed one minute silence in the memory of deceased mountaineers. This was followed by the welcome speech by Mr, Sarki Tamang, Convener, Environment Conservation Committee, NMA. The chief guest officially inaugurated the program by watering the plant. After the inauguration Chief Guest felicitate the newly appointed and elected executive board members of NTB, Nepal Mountain Acamedy, HAN, VITOF-Nepal and TTDC.

After first program Mr. Tikaram Gurung, Secretary handover the Mike to Mr. Kul Bahadur Gurung, General Secretary NMA for the interaction program on "Issue of Mt. Everest climbing: An interaction with climbers & other stakeholders". Mr. Gurung highlighted on the topic and requested everyone to flash the light on the traffic jam on Mt. Everest, accident at Mt. Everest and mountain environment protection. After the information about the topic vies from the participants was collected for the further report preparation.

This was followed by the remarks by the chief guest and finally chair person and president of NMA mr. Santa Bir Lama concluded the program by his thank you not.

Completion of 40th Basic Mountaineering Course – 12th July

NMA organized 40th Basic mountaineering Course from 18th June to 12 July 2019 at Kathmandu and Manang. There were 42 trainees, 12 instructors, 1 equipment in-charge and 1 doctor from Slovenia participant in the training.

Completion of 10th Mountain Leader Course 2019-

Nepal Mountaineering Association organized 10th Mountain Leader Course 2019 from … to …. 2019 at Kathmandu and Kakani. There were total 20 participants in the training.

The 100th Anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary

On the occasion of 100th Anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary Nepal Mountaineering Association organized a program in presence of NMA general member.

Extra Ordinary General Meeting 2019- 24th July

Nepal Mountaineering Association organized first.Extra Ordinary General Meeting 2019 on 12th July, 2018 at Lainchaur Banquet. Owing to lack of quorum the program was reschedule for 20th July 2019 at Naxal Banquet. On this day also due to lack of quorum the program was reschedule for 24th July 2019 at Star Venue. The program was successfully completed on third attempt.
