Protest note for attack on mountaineer in Pakistan- 2 July

NMA decided to send a protest letter to Government of Pakistan via Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for the killing of Nepali mountaineer named Sona Sherpa on Nanga Parbat in Pakistan. NMA also demanded for the suitable compensation for the family of deceased mountaineer.

Extension of time to submit application forms- 2 July

NMA executive board decided to extend the time period for 10 more days from 2 July to submit the application for membership for the three categories (summiteers, trekking companies and those general members, who failed to renew their membership) and provide its membership meeting the criteria maintained by its statute.

NMA election- 12 July

The executive board meeting of NMA on 12 July decided to conduct its election on 24 January. Its election is scheduled for the month of June-July, but because of issuance of new membership and preparation of election regulation, the date has been postponed.

Short listing of general members-22 July

470 applicants have been shortlisted for the membership of NMA. They are requested to pay their fee before 240 August 2013.

Amount released for Mountain Academy of Nepal- 22 July

As per the instruction of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, NMA decided to release 5% of the royalty collected from 15 peaks to Mountain Academy of Nepal.

UIAA & UAAA General Assembly- 29 July

NMA received invitation for the participation in general assembly of UIAA that is going to be held in Switzerland from 2- 5 Oct 2013. Likewise, general assembly of UAAA is scheduled to be organized in Pakistan from 29 Sep - 1 Oct 2013.
