Advance Mountaineering Course 2012 - 10 Jan 2012

The annual program of NMA- Advance Mountaineering Course 2012 started from 10 Jan at Kathmandu. The duration of the training is from 10 Jan - 18 Feb of 38 days with 24 participants. It will be held in Kathmandu and Langtang. Pasang Sherpa is deputed as chief instructor for the training. They will leave for Langtang for further training on 28 Jan.

Executive Board Member Dawa Steven Sherpa on 1700 km trek- 15 Jan

NMA Executive Board Member Mr. Dawa Steven Sherpa and his team led by ex-advisor of NMA Mr. Apa Sherpa ( 21 times Everest summiteer) left Kathmandu on 15 Jan on on 1700 KM and 120 days long The Great Himalaya Trail- Climate Smart Celebrity Trek (GHT-CSCT) . They were handed over the national flag by His Excellency, Rt. Honorable Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, President, Republic of Nepal on 12 Jan in special program organized at the office of the President. The trek is organized to highlight the impacts of climate Change in the Himalayas and to promote The Great Himalaya Trail as the best tourism trail in the world. Ski Mountaineering Asian Championship- 20 Jan

Korean Alpine Federation is organizing the Ist Ski Mountaineering Asian Championship 2012 in Korea from 18- 19 Feb 2012.

IFSC Plenary Assembly- 20 January

The Plenary Assembly of International Federation of Sports Climbing is going to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 25 Feb 2012. NMA is the active member of IFSC. Details can be viewed at www.ifsc-climbing.org
