Presentation on Earthquake, safety measures, & Rescue: 11 August
Dr. Bishal Nath Upreti did a presentation on 'Earthquake' on 11th August 2015at NMA secretariat. NMA President along with other officials, staffs and other visitors participated in the presentation program. His presentation created awareness among the participants as he explained detail on its effects, safety measure and rescue procedure to follow.
Guinness World Records Certificate handover Ceremony: 15 August
NMA organized Guinness World Records Certificate handover ceremony for Ngima Chhamji Sherpa for being the youngest female in the world to climb Mt. Everest aged 16 years and 187 days old on 19 May 2012. Chief Guest for the program Acting Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohan Krishna Sapkota handed over the certificate to Ms. Sherpa in the special program organized at Nepal Tourism Board on 15 August. Acting Director General of Department of Tourism Ramesh Adhikari, Executive Board Members of NMA, President of TAAN Ramesh Dhamala, NMA Advisers, committee members, journalists etc were also present in the program.
NMA Mountain Leader Training Summer Component- 2015:
NMA Mountain Leader Training Summer Component started 23 August 2015.The training is going to be held in Kathmandu and Kakani from 23 August 2015 to 3rd September 2015. Instructor Mr. Tulsing Singh Gurung is the coordinator and Mr Mani Kumar Rai,Dawa Tashi Sherpa and Kishore Shrestha are the Tutors of the training. Expeditions after Earthquake:
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation organized a special program to inform about Team Kuriki-Mt. Everest 8848m Expedition 2015, Autumn- the first Everest expedition team to ascend Mt. Everest after earthquake in autumn season 2015. It was informed that nine more expedition teams are already granted the permission to climb and four are in the procedure to.
The name list of those 14 expedition teams to climb mountains in this autumn season.
