Annual General Meeting 2007- 5 August

Executive Board Meeting held on 13 August decided to hold Annual General Meeting 2007 on 7 September 2007 at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg. All the renewed general members are requested to participate in the AGM. The proposed policy and program with estimated budget for 2064 / 2065 and the progress report and audit report of 2063/2064 were sent to all the general members.

Committee formed- 5 August

Executive Board Meeting held on 5 August decided to establish award in honor of its Ex-advisor Dr. Harka Gurung. Dr. Harka Parbatiya Award Committee was also formed under the convenership of Dr. Soorya Lal Amatya, advisor to NMA along with the following members. The committee will nominate at least three persons for the award.

  2. Mr. Ganesh Gurung- Member
  3. Mr. Gopal Burathoki- Member
  4. Mr. Khadananda Dhakal- Member
  5. Mr.Vinaya Shakya- Member Secretary

The committee will name the award with the identification of field, rules and regulation for the award etc.

The committee will also nominate the awardees for Kumar Khadga Contribution Award and Dawa Norbu Mountaineering Tourism Journalism Award.

AGM of Annapurna Chapter- 10 August

Mr. Zimba Zangbu Sherpa- Ist Vice President and Mr. Bhumi Lal Lama- IInd Vice President attended the Annual General Meeting of Nepal Mountaineering Association, Annapurna Chapter held on 10 August 2007 at Hotel Dragon.

Gratefulness expressed- 13 August

Executive Board Meeting held on 13 August expressed its gratefulness to the institutional members Everest Summiteers Association, UNITRAV, Nepal Mountaineers' Instructors Association, Gorkha Tourism and Nepal National Mountain Guide Association for the press conference held on 2 July at Reporters' Club.

Basic Mountaineering Course 2007- 15 August

Basic Mountaineering Course 2007 started from 15 August at NMA -Secretariat. The theoretical class of the training takes place at NMA while the practical class will take place at Langtang from 30 August. 32 students were selected from 100 applications received for the training. Four foreign nationals from England are also participating in the training.
