NMA's assistance to Ang Rita Sherpa- 10 April

NMA President Ang Tshering Sherpa handed over the cash of Nrs 1 lac to the daughter of Ang Rita Sherpa for his treatment. Mr. Sherpa is undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Baansbari. Ist VP Santa Bir Lama, Secretary- Rajendra Man Shrestha, Treasurer Tika Ram Gurung and CAO Jinesh Sindurakar were also present during that time. Famous mountaineer Ang Rita Sherpa was hospitalized at Neuro Hospital, Bannsbari due to the health problem on 9 April. NMA President visited the hospital on the same and consulted with the doctor to get updated information about his health condition. NMA is in continuous contact with his family members and all the expenses related with hospital will be managed by NMA. Mr. Sherpa climbed Mt. Everest ten times without the support of supplementary oxygen and is titled as Snow Leopard.

Director General welcomed at NMA

Newly appointed Director General Dinesh Bhatterai was welcomed at NMA Secretariat on 27 April 207. NMA President Ang Tshering, Adviser Buddi Narayan Shrestha and other members of NMA welcomed him at NMA. He was briefed about NMA activities, peak profile preparation and other activities of NMA.

Famous climber Ueli Steck killed- 30 April

The famous Swiss Climber Ueli Steck was killed during expedition to Everest on 30 April 2017. He had the record climbing mountains speedily, setting record of ascending the north face of the Eiger, a peak in the Bernese alps in 2 hours 47 min without the usage of rope. A group of six rescuers discovered a body of the multiple-record holder mountaineer near the Nuptse Face of Mt Everest where he could have slipped and fell on the ice-covered slope.
